Description: Major changes are coming to Ontario’s workplaces by January 1, 2018, with the Ontario government’s push to pass Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017. Although most of the media coverage has focused on the substantial increase to the minimum wage, Bill 148 (which recently received Royal Assent) will make wide-ranging amendments to employee rights and employer obligations under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and Labour Relations Act, 1995. Through a presentation conducted by Williams HR Law, you’ll get the chance to review the amendments contained in Bill 148 as well as the implications of these changes for your workplace.
Learning Objectives
1.) Understand the legislative amendments.
2.) Learn about new obligations and what they will mean for your business.
3.) Identify strategies for adhering to the new statutory obligations while continuing to effectively manage your workforce.
